The most interesting headset you'll ever see

Here is a product that's like nothing I've seen before for listening to music and taking calls without being totally tuned out from the rest of the world. It's called the S1 Audio NxSET Mobile 2. It's not your run of the mill headset because it actually rests around your neck with two speakers positioned perfectly for your listening pleasure. The great thing is since your ears aren't covered you can still hear what's going on around you. The product should be out in August and will cost $159. The model I'm demonstrating below is the NxSET Music and it will be available in a couple of months for $79.95. Although the NxSET Music won't be able to take calls, you can still use it to listen to music through your cell phone so long as it has a 3.5mm headset jack.

Get an instant charge for your cell phone anywhere...

As I mentioned in a preivious post, there were quite a few "green" technologies on display at CES. One that really caught my eye was Medis Technologies' Extreme 24/7 Power Pack Fuel Cell. This is another "green" product that lets you easily charge a cell phone or other gadget such as GPS device from a portable charger that already has all the juice you'll need. Check out the video below to see how it works:

AKON at CES and a pretty interesting new music solution for cell phones

It's not uncommon to spot a few famous people at CES. This year, I happened upon an appearance by AKON at none other than the SanDisk booth. Of course like everyone else I had to snap a picture, but what really caught my eye was what he seemed to be there to promote. A new product called slotRadio and a recently announced product called slotMusic. Essentially, slotMusic is a way to buy high quality MP3s (DRM-free) on a 1GB MicroSD card that you can then insert directly into your cell phone. Since the music is DRM-free you can then use the adapter and add the music to your computer or MP3 player. Music isn't all you'll find on these cards, there might also be video as well. The cards cost around $14 dollars, but the nice thing is once you have the music where you want it, you can do whatever you want to the MicroSD card, including formatting it and using it in your phone to store pictures or anything else.

LG Phones at CES

Not a lot of news at CES 2009 for LG, however, I did finally get to see the LG watch phone that was announced a month or so ago. I've been twittering about it, so I had to check it out. It's not nearly as big as I originally thought and has a little science fiction feel to it. Though I'm not sure how many people would use this as a cell phone proper, but it does seem to be a great conversation starter if worn out in public. And hey, they've got band colors to match most outfits. Also on tap was the LG Renoir (not available in the US), which you can see below. It's a touchscreen cell phone that's fairly slim and sports an 8-megapixel camera.

T-Mobile adds lightweight BlackBerry to line-up

The latest version of the BlackBerry Curve, the 8900, is the lightest available to date of the full-QWERTY models and yet there's still plenty of room between the alphanumeric keys. The new 8900 also sports the slick interface found on the BlackBerry Bold. What's nice about this particular BlackBerry is that yes, it does have WiFi and you can use it to do more than just surf the web, with the additional Unlimited HotSpot Calling plan you can use it to make calls when you're near a WiFi network and aren't getting the best coverage. It comes with a 256MB memory card, which is a good thing especially if you want to listen to music on this BlackBerry or even save songs as ringtones. Plus it will take up to a 16GB MicroSD card. The Curve 8900 also sports a 3.2-megapixel camera, whereas the Bold has only a 2-megapixel camera. Take a closer look at this slim BlackBerry.
