Expert Reviews of Motorola SLVR L7 Black (AT&T)

Motorola's candy bar-style thin cell phone, the Slvr, comes in a few flavors (L7, L6 and L2). It has many features found on the flip phone-style Razr including that trademark keypad and Motorola's easy-to-use interface. Though there's more to the Slvr L7 cell phone than just a slender figure. It has world-roaming functionality so you can use this cell phone abroad, iTunes support for playing music, comes with a 512MB storage card so you can store a ton of songs, pics and videos, and finally our favorite feature: a phonebook that actually supports addresses for storing street and city info for all your contacts.

I have had my Motorola SLVR L7 for a year and a half and I cannot wait to get rid of it. The camera is blurry, the music speaker could be louder, and when you record a video, you will be lucky if it lasts a minute. The iTunes application on it is my biggest problem. Every time I go to iTunes, it will randomly skip songs and even deletes them if I turn my phone off.

Not sure where people are saying excellent call quality because mine always sounds like a bee is buzzing in my ear. Plus the mic hole is placed awkwardly so my cheek is always covering it, muffling the sound. Ease of use on this phone sucks so bad!!! It started off great but after a few months the phone constantly reboots itself for no reason, even in the middle of calls. I hate this phone now....it is completely outdated and you can get so much better for your money these days. Very poor software running this phone. The itunes holds 100 songs (boo) and you can get a hacked version of itunes for up to 1000 songs but the hacked version is totally unreliable and constantly corrupted the memory of songs. Honestly, it's not worth the money compared to other great phones out there. However, I will say my battery is outstanding, I've gone two or three days without charging and I talk approx 1500 min a month. Just make sure to set your screen to turn off after 30 seconds of inactivity.

The Slvr has been okay. My battery life has been miserable and is the reason I'm going back to my old phone. I get at best eight hours out of a fully charged battery and that's with my average of about 5 minutes of usage a day. I have had the battery replaces four times since I got the phone and that hasn't solved the problem.

The SLVR is the phone that is made for teenagers. There's no question about it. As a RAZR bar version, I believe that Motorola has succeeded in making one that is attrative and practical. They could work on call quality, but I think that that responsibilty should go to AT&T.

A really nice all around phone. Great battery life, great reception, fairly compact and solid build quality. I recommend it!rnnow a few minor gripes: 100 song limit (no matter how big the mem card is), rather slow to transfer songs to the phone from itunes - something like 1 1/2 hours for 100 songs! Video quality is poor (who really cares) and the camera is VGA (640 x 480 = 0.3M pixels) but still looks ok.
