I was wondering about the buy out of Alltel by Verizon. Does that mean that current Alltel customers will become Verizon customers? If so, when will this take place?
-josh

  • Re: Alltel-Verizon Integration 0 Post(s) Reply

Re: Alltel-Verizon Integration 0 Post(s) Reply Great question. Most Alltel Wireless customers will be converted to Verizon Wireless in the upcoming months with no additional effort by the customer. However, as part of the regulatory approval process, a select number of ZIP codes in which both Alltel and Verizon Wireless offer service will not merge carriers. In other words, Alltel customers in those ZIP codes will remain Alltel customers unless they voluntarily change carriers (early termination fees may apply). For those of you that are in integrated ZIP codes, you can choose to keep your Alltel cell phone or purchase a Verizon Wireless device. If you choose to change to Verizon Wireless before the official conversion, you may face early termination fees from Alltel Wireless. Hope this helps.

  • Re: web feature 0 Post(s) Reply

Re: web feature 0 Post(s) Reply If you currently have a Basic or Select plan, I recommend that you take advantage of one of Verizon's new data packages. For just $9.99 a month, you can have up to 25MB of data per month. This will allow you to take full advantage of this feature rich device without needing to worry about unexpected charges.

  • Re: camera 0 Post(s) Reply

Re: camera 0 Post(s) Reply I think you're holding the camera button on the side of the phone for too long. If you press the camera button once, the camera option will appear. If you hold the button down longer, the camera feature will automatically appear. See if this works.

If I wanted to add a line for my child could I get the number from my previous phone changed to the new phone and have the new number put on my existing phone?
-Charlene Davis

  • Re: changing number 0 Post(s) Reply

Re: changing number 0 Post(s) Reply This should not be a problem. If you don't have a preference for the new number, I would recommend purchasing the new phone with whatever number you'd like. You should then be able to go onto your My Verizon account and switch the two IMEI numbers for the phones so that your current number is on the new phone. Generally, you can "port" your old number to a new phone when you buy it, but this is a slightly different request. I would try my approach, but if you have any doubts or questions, it may be a good idea to double check with Verizon over the phone and then go through with your purchase on LetsTalk.com for significant phone discounts.

Expert Reviews of LG Dare (Verizon Wireless)

Expert Rating: 4.5
by Joni Blecher -- August 29th 2008

While the LG Dare doesn’t look like what you’d expect a cell phone to look like, it definitely lives up to its name. This cell phone dares to look different without sacrificing on functionality and usability. It has all the high-end features you’d expect: 3.2-megapixel camera, touch-screen, stereo Bluetooth, MP3 player, navigation system, and high-speed web surfing. In short, there’s not much you can’t do when you’ve got the Dare on-hand and you’ll just feel cool using it.

This is just an amazing cell phone. I love mine and would tell anyone to get it. The only problem I have is that it doesn't fit in some of my shorts pockets, but it takes amazing pictures and has awesome cases. This cell is incredibly awesome. I would get one for everyone I know. I love it. It holds battery for 3-4 days when texting, which is what I really need. I will be extremely happy and proud of this phone for a long time.
